First Dates || Finchel

Finn walked up to Rachel’s door nervously and knocked on it twice, shoving his hands in his pockets as he waited for her. He smiled down at her as she opened up the door, “Hi Rach. You look really pretty.” he told her, leaning down to kiss her cheek. “So um, ready to g-” he was cut off though by a booming voice, “Not so fast, you two.” Hiram announced, coming up behind them, “What exactly is going on here?“ he asked, glaring at Finn. He swallowed loudly and took a deep breath, “Mr. Hiram..I-I love your daughter. I’m in love with her.” he told her dad before putting his hands in front of his face, waiting for a punch to come. Instead though, he felt arms wrap around him in a bear hug, “It’s about time you two got together! Leroy, get the camera! Our babies are going out on their first date!” Finn looked at Rachel and gave her a nervously smile, chuckling a bit at how annoyed she looked as she told her dads that they had to go so, no, they couldn’t get a picture of them before they left. “Oh c’mon Rach. Just let them get one.”, Finn said, convincing her. He stood behind her and let his head rest atop hers as he wrapped his arms around her middle smiling as her dads took the picture.
After, he took Rachel’s hand and waved to her fathers as they walked out the door. “Well..that went better than expected.” he said, helping her into the passengers side. He started the car and backed out of her driveway, turning the radio on as he drove down the road. He turned his head and smiled at her, grabbing her hand and driving with the other, “I really do love you, you know that, right?” he asked, rubbing his thumb across her knuckles.
Rachel smiled shyly, looking down as he kissed her cheek. Her eyes widened when she heard her dad behind her and she groaned, turning around to face him. She opened her mouth to respond but was quickly cut off by Finn speaking suddenly. Her eyes softened as she listened to him and she wondered if it was possible to be so in love with someone. She smiled brightly when her dad hugged him, the smile quickly fading and turning into a look of annoyance when he told her dad to bring the camera. “Daddy, no! We’re late!” she said with a groan, turning towards Finn, her hands out to push him out the door. She raised her eyebrow at Finn before narrowing her eyes at him, turning around and putting on her best smile for her dads. “Okay, now if you two are done embarrassing us, we would like to actually go out on the date! Don’t wait up.” she told them, kissing their cheeks before walking out the door, leaving Finn behind her.
Feeling his hand in hers quickly, she closed her fingers around his and looked at him. “Don’t get used to it. I don’t think they will be as thrilled about this or wanting to get our picture together when they find out you got me pregnant.” she told him with a nod, climbing into his truck. Her eyes gazed out the window, smiling and turning towards him when he took her hand in his. She smiled at his words and looked down at their hands, squeezing it lightly. “I love you, too.” she nodded, looking up at him and leaning over to kiss his cheek. “I hope they have caramel apples.. and peanut butter. With ice cream.” she muttered, furrowing her brows as she thought of the selection of food they had at the fair.
I hate nightmares.

You should sing! It helps, I promise. And if it’s a selection from Funny Girl, it makes the nightmare go away even faster.

I know. But I mean it. You are one of our more talented team members. And I’m sure I could always help you with your singing if you need it! :) Oh, I can assure you he is. He wasn’t really a fan of the idea of joining so you being there surely makes it better for him.

First Dates || Finchel
Rachel had woken up in an exceptionally good mood. She had been for the past few days and she had a big feeling that it had to do with the fact that her and Finn had actually defined their relationship. After years of friendship and hidden feelings, Finn Hudson was finally her boyfriend. Of course part of her was terrified that this was only because of the baby, like Finn felt like he had to be with her. But then again, the way he told her that he loved her, how he’d always loved her and the way he kissed her and looked at her, it made her forget about the skepticism. She was actually kind of nervous though. Here she was, getting ready for her first real date with Finn. They had gone to the fair before. As friends, of course. But why should this be any different, right? It was just Finn. After deciding on some tights, flats, and a pink dress, she finally felt ready and she walked downstairs, pacing around her kitchen as she ate a spoonful of peanut butter (her cravings were driving her crazy).
She was becoming rather impatient waiting for Finn, looking at her watch every 5 seconds, even her dads were watching her with curious eyes. “Big date, sweetheart?” she heard her father ask as she paced around with the spoon in her mouth. Her eyes widened and moved to where her two dads had entered the room. She quickly pulled the spoon out of her mouth and smiled nervously. “What? No. Just - Finn.” she said nervously. She hadn’t told them that her and Finn were together, or that she was carrying his baby but that confession was long off as far as she could help it. They raised their eyebrows and she sighed, blowing her bangs out of her face. “Finn is taking me to the fair…It’s kind of our…first date.” she said with a small smile. Before her dads could say a word, she heard a knock at the door and she handed her dad the spoon before quickly making her way to the door, opening it and revealing her boyfriend. She smiled at the thought and looked up at him shyly. “Hi, Finn.”
